The Space Behind the Waterfall
This time of year, it's so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. With deadlines, year-end goals, holiday cards and family obligations all looming over us—let's just say it's a lot. I don't know about you, but lately I feel like I'm just one small step away from overwhelm and burnout.
Luckily, my sister gave me some advice I think we all need to hear, especially this time of year. She said, “Be the space behind the waterfall.” You see, life is a amazingly erratic, exciting, and constant flow of happenings. It's crazy, wonderful, busy, scary, and just plain magic. With each new circumstance, we have the choice to dive in or stand back and simply observe.
This holiday season, be the space behind the waterfall. You can dive in and be part of the crazy flow of life. Or you can stand back, observe, and simply enjoy the splendor. It's up to you. Always.
Happy Holidays and I'll see you in the bright and shiny new year! ✨
PS - I've got lots of exciting things coming up in the new year. I'm launching my Illustrator Essentials course for the 2nd time, hosting some fun workshops, telling you all about my new freedom-friendly workspace, and (at some point) whisking you away to Iceland (once I find the time to organize and edit our photos.. 🙈). All of that said, I'm taking a step back in the meantime to enjoy the holidays and recharge my batteries.
